Agreement
These Terms are between you and Unlabored Labs, Inc., 131 Continental Dr Suite 305, Newark, DE 19713, United States. Roda's EU representative is Weishang Lu, Penha Longa D, Estrada da Lagoa Azul, Linho, 2714-511 Lisboa, Portugal, wynn@unlabored.net.
By joining the waitlist, creating a Roda account, booking an event, purchasing a membership, or attending a Roda-arranged gathering, you agree to these Terms and the policies linked from the Legal Center.
Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must use Roda only from Portugal or another EU country where Roda is offered.
- You must provide accurate account, booking, and questionnaire information.
- You may not use Roda if we previously removed you for safety, fraud, or serious conduct reasons.
What Roda provides
Roda is a mobile-first social events service. The landing page may collect waitlist information, but accounts and event participation happen in the mobile app.
Roda uses questionnaire answers, preferences, operational judgment, and human-reviewed AI-assisted matching to arrange small-group plans such as dinners, walks, coffee, drinks, and other social events.
Roda may arrange events directly, work with venue partners, use hosts or contractors, and adjust event details where needed for safety, availability, or quality.
Matching and event expectations
Roda does not guarantee friendship, romance, professional benefit, compatibility, attendance by any specific person, venue availability, or any particular event outcome.
AI may assist with summaries and recommendations, but Roda staff review event placements before they are sent to users. You remain responsible for deciding whether an event is right for you.
Account responsibilities
- Keep your account secure and do not share access.
- Keep questionnaire, preference, accessibility, food, and safety information current.
- Do not impersonate others, misrepresent your age or identity, evade a suspension, or interfere with Roda's systems.
- Do not submit unlawful, abusive, discriminatory, threatening, misleading, or unsafe free-text answers.
Conduct
Roda is built around small in-person gatherings. You must treat other participants, hosts, venue staff, contractors, and Roda staff with respect.
- No harassment, stalking, threats, hate, discrimination, unwanted sexual attention, coercion, violence, or intimidation.
- No recording, photographing, or publishing another participant without their consent.
- No excessive alcohol or substance use, unsafe behavior, venue rule violations, or conduct that makes others feel pressured or unsafe.
- Follow host instructions, venue policies, applicable law, and the Safety Guidelines.
Bookings, fees, and memberships
Roda may charge booking fees, event prices, service fees, or subscription memberships. Prices, taxes, included benefits, renewal terms, and cancellation terms will be shown before purchase where required.
Payments are processed by Stripe or another payment provider. We do not store full card numbers. A booking is confirmed only when payment and confirmation steps are complete.
Memberships may be offered later. If a membership renews automatically, we will show the renewal terms and cancellation method before purchase.
Cancellations and refunds
Our Refund and Cancellation Policy forms part of these Terms. In short: we refund if Roda cancels or materially changes an event, and we generally provide a full refund when you cancel at least 48 hours before a paid event.
For date-specific leisure or social events, the ordinary EU 14-day withdrawal right may not apply once the service is for a specific date or period. We still offer the voluntary refund policy described in the Refund and Cancellation Policy.
Safety and emergencies
Roda reviews matches and works to create thoughtful events, but real-world social gatherings involve personal judgment and risk. Use common sense, respect boundaries, and leave any situation that feels unsafe.
Roda is not an emergency service. In an emergency, contact local emergency services first. In Portugal, call 112.
Suspension or removal
We may refuse, suspend, remove, or restrict access to Roda or an event if we believe it is reasonably necessary for safety, legal compliance, fraud prevention, operational reliability, or enforcement of these Terms.
Where practical and appropriate, we will explain the reason. We may withhold details where disclosure could create safety, privacy, security, or anti-abuse risks.
Intellectual property
Roda, roda.place, the Roda app, designs, text, branding, software, and related materials belong to Unlabored Labs, Inc. or its licensors. You receive a limited, personal, non-transferable right to use Roda as offered and in accordance with these Terms.
Third-party services
Roda relies on third-party providers such as authentication, hosting, analytics, AI, payment, email, venues, and event partners. Their services may have their own terms or privacy notices. Roda is responsible for its own service, but not for independent third-party conduct outside our control.
Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, intentional misconduct, or mandatory consumer rights.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Roda is not liable for indirect losses, lost profits, lost opportunities, or events outside our reasonable control. For paid services, our aggregate liability is limited to the amounts you paid to Roda in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim, unless mandatory law requires otherwise.
Governing law and disputes
Portuguese law governs these Terms, without limiting any mandatory consumer rights available under EU or local law. Portuguese courts have jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
Contact hello@roda.place first so we can try to resolve a concern. Before paid bookings open, Roda will publish the applicable Portuguese Livro de Reclamações Eletrónico and consumer alternative dispute resolution details where required.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as Roda changes. If a change materially affects existing users, bookings, or memberships, we will take reasonable steps to notify you before the change applies, unless urgent legal, safety, or security reasons require faster action.
